inveazy how-to series: CRM & projects:
Part 5 of the how-to series: CRM organizations, accounts, contacts, and pipeline — plus PM projects and work items for delivery after the sale.
Part 5 of the inveazy how-to series. Where sales lives in CRM, where delivery lives in project management, and how the two fit together.
Series: ← Previous: Tenant Admin & users · Next → Supply chain & store
CRM tracks who might buy. PM tracks what your team must deliver.
What you will do
Your team can sign in (Post 4). This guide orients sales and delivery people to the screens they will use most days.
- CRM directory — organizations, accounts, contacts
- Pipeline and opportunities
- PM projects and work items
- How a won deal can continue into delivery
CRM → Organizations
CRM: companies and people
Open the CRM megamenu. Start with the ORG column.
- Organizations — company or legal entity you sell to or partner with
- Accounts — sell-to customer relationships day to day
- Contacts — people (buyers, decision makers, technical contacts)
- Leads — prospects you have not qualified yet
A CRM organization is not a tenant workspace. The workspace is your whole inveazy environment. The CRM organization is a company inside that environment.
Tip: Put the company on Organizations, the selling relationship on Accounts, and the person on Contacts — then link them so nothing lives as a lonely name.
Pipeline and opportunities
Open CRM → Pipeline → Pipeline for the Kanban board of deals. Columns are stages; cards are opportunities you drag as the deal moves.
Use Opportunities (table view) when you need sorting, filters, or a fast lookup. Use the pipeline board in review meetings when you want to move deals visually.
Typical path:
- Create or find the organization and account
- Add contacts
- Open an opportunity with amount and expected close
- Move stages on the pipeline until Closed Won or Lost
Optional: log calls and meetings on the Activity board so follow-ups do not live only in someone’s head.
CRM → Pipeline → Pipeline
Project management
Open PM → Projects hub (/pm) for the launcher, then Projects for the master list. A project is a named body of work — client rollout, internal initiative, or service engagement — with optional links back to a CRM organization or account.
Under a project you track work items (tasks). Day-to-day execution often uses:
- Work items — table of tasks
- Tasks board — Kanban by status
- Sprints — short planning cycles when your team uses them
- Gantt — timeline view for one project
Remember: CRM Pipeline moves sales opportunities by deal stage. PM Tasks board moves delivery work by task status. Same Kanban idea — different objects.
How CRM and PM relate
Closed Won in CRM marks sales success. Fulfillment continues elsewhere: goods and shipping in SCM (next post), or delivery work in PM when you sold a services engagement.
Link a project to the CRM organization or account when the work is customer-facing so sales history and delivery stay connected without duplicating the company name.
What’s next
Continue with Supply chain & store — products, purchase and sales orders, warehouse, and the public B2B storefront.
