Part 9 of the inveazy how-to series. How to run warehouse receive, pick, and ship from a phone or scanner gun — without living at the desktop all day.

Desktop builds the orders. Mobile confirms what actually hit the dock and left the building.

What you will do

Post 6 covered purchase orders, sales orders, receipts, and shipments on the full SCM screens. This guide is the floor workflow: same documents, smaller UI, barcode-first.

Mobile vs desktop

Use desktop SCM to create and review documents: vendors, products, purchase orders, sales orders, on-hand inquiries, and printed packing slips.

Use Mobile when you are on the dock or in the aisle and need to confirm quantity against a real barcode — camera on a phone, USB/Bluetooth wedge scanner, or typing the code if a label will not scan.

Mobile works on phone, tablet, and desktop. Many teams leave a tablet on a cart and keep the office on full screens for exceptions.

Tip: Set up warehouses, bins, and open POs/SOs on desktop first. Mobile cannot invent a purchase order that does not exist yet.

Open the Mobile launcher

Open the phone icon in the top bar, or go to SCM → Warehouse operations → Mobile (path /inventory/mobile).

The launcher splits buy-side and sell-side flows. Each tile opens a scan mode at /inventory/mobile/scan/… with a scan field and optional camera button.

Common modes today:

• Receive — receipt lines against an open PO
• Put-away — move received qty into a bin
• Pick — confirm SO picks (often into a shipping staging bin)
• Ship — outbound confirmation tied to fulfillment
• Count — cycle count by location
• Transfer / Track — move or trace between bins
• Staging — LPN or staging bin to move a pallet or break it down
• Lic. plate — create/print LPN labels and review pallet contents

Receive on the dock

Typical buy-side path:

1. Open an expected purchase order on desktop (or know the PO number)
2. Start Receive on Mobile
3. Scan or enter the PO / product barcodes as the mode prompts
4. Confirm quantities; use license plate (pallet) when the dock receives multi-PO freight
5. Commit so on-hand reflects what landed

Then use Put-away to shelve into the right bin so pickers are not hunting the receiving lane later.

Remember: Receiving posts stock. The PO alone does not. Same rule as Post 6 — mobile just makes the confirm step faster.

Pick and ship

Typical sell-side path:

1. Have a released sales order (or web order converted to SO) ready to fulfill
2. Start Pick — scan products (and bins when prompted) against the order
3. Stage lines, then commit when the mode asks (multi-line staging can batch several scans before one commit)
4. Complete Ship so outbound quantity leaves on-hand

Short picks still show up as backorders on desktop. Customer service and buyers chase those from the full SCM screens — not from the scan gun alone.

Labels, bins, and barcodes

Keep scanning reliable:

• Copy the scannable bin code from Locations (Location-Zone style) onto physical labels
• Use product barcodes that match what Mobile expects for that SKU
• Reprint damaged labels before peak season — bad labels slow every mode
• Prefer wedge scanners on busy docks; use camera scan when walking with a phone

Desktop License plates lists pallet labels and staging bins when you need office visibility of LPNs created on the floor.

Optional: Mobile capture (/inventory/mobile/capture) is a separate phone-first wizard for field CRM / account capture — not a substitute for receive/pick.
